Dominic Heale, the familiar face from East Midlands Today, visited Market Harborough last week to interview business persons and residents.
The co-presenters trip to the town was to find out about Market Harborough’s quality of life, after a report found the town to be the most sustainable of eleven similarly sized towns.
With support from Harborough District Council, the report was commissioned by Sustainable Harborough and was designed to identify the town’s strengths as well as any areas for improvement.
Market Harborough were compared to similar sized market towns including; Stamford, Melton Mowbray, Ely and Stratford upon Avon. Each of the towns was measured against a range of specific criteria, such as how well designed, run and serviced the town is, safety and inclusivity, environmental issues and economic activity.
Market Harborough was independently identified as the most sustainable of the 11 towns surveyed. Our town also scored highly in two recent surveys; the Halifax Quality of Life Survey 2015 and The Best Places to Live in Britain by the Sunday Times.
Murphy’s Taxis are an established service in the town. All of our drivers are carefully vetted, and both our drivers and vehicles are regularly tested to ensure that our positive local reputation is maintained.
